⁵⁷ before your wickedness was uncovered. Even so, you are now scorned^(A) by the daughters of Edom^[a](B) and all her neighbors and the daughters of the Philistines—all those around you who despise you.

⁴ you have become guilty because of the blood you have shed^(A) and have become defiled by the idols you have made. You have brought your days to a close, and the end of your years has come.^(B) Therefore I will make you an object of scorn^(C) to the nations and a laughingstock to all the countries.^(D)

²⁹ I will provide for them a land renowned^(A) for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine^(B) in the land or bear the scorn^(C) of the nations.^(D)
