⁴ but will go to my country and my own relatives^(A) and get a wife for my son Isaac.^(B)”

²⁰ and Isaac was forty years old^(A) when he married Rebekah^(B) daughter of Bethuel^(C) the Aramean from Paddan Aram^[a](D) and sister of Laban^(E) the Aramean.^(F)

⁴³ Now then, my son, do what I say:^(A) Flee at once to my brother Laban^(B) in Harran.^(C)

² Go at once to Paddan Aram,^[a](A) to the house of your mother’s father Bethuel.^(B) Take a wife for yourself there, from among the daughters of Laban, your mother’s brother.^(C)

⁵ Then Isaac sent Jacob on his way,^(A) and he went to Paddan Aram,^(B) to Laban son of Bethuel the Aramean,^(C) the brother of Rebekah,^(D) who was the mother of Jacob and Esau.

⁵ He said to them, “Do you know Laban, Nahor’s grandson?”^(A)

“Yes, we know him,” they answered.

¹² He had told Rachel that he was a relative^(A) of her father and a son of Rebekah.^(B) So she ran and told her father.^(C)

¹³ As soon as Laban^(A) heard the news about Jacob, his sister’s son, he hurried to meet him. He embraced him^(B) and kissed him and brought him to his home, and there Jacob told him all these things.
