⁶ For to us a child is born,^(A)
    to us a son is given,^(B)
    and the government^(C) will be on his shoulders.^(D)
And he will be called
    Wonderful Counselor,^(E) Mighty God,^(F)
    Everlasting^(G) Father,^(H) Prince of Peace.^(I)
7 Of the greatness of his government^(J) and peace^(K)
    there will be no end.^(L)
He will reign^(M) on David’s throne
    and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
    with justice^(N) and righteousness^(O)
    from that time on and forever.^(P)
The zeal^(Q) of the Lord Almighty
    will accomplish this.

⁸ Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,^(V)
    who have ears but are deaf.^(W)
9 All the nations gather together^(X)
    and the peoples assemble.
Which of their gods foretold^(Y) this
    and proclaimed to us the former things?
Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right,
    so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”
¹⁰ “You are my witnesses,^(Z)” declares the Lord,
    “and my servant^(AA) whom I have chosen,
so that you may know^(AB) and believe me
    and understand that I am he.
Before me no god^(AC) was formed,
    nor will there be one after me.^(AD)
11 I, even I, am the Lord,^(AE)
    and apart from me there is no savior.^(AF)

⁵ “The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
    “when I will raise up for David^[a] a righteous Branch,^(A)
a King^(B) who will reign^(C) wisely
    and do what is just and right^(D) in the land.
⁶ In his days Judah will be saved
    and Israel will live in safety.^(E)
This is the name^(F) by which he will be called:
    The Lord Our Righteous Savior.^(G)

¹⁴ Sing, Daughter Zion;^(A)
    shout aloud,^(B) Israel!
Be glad and rejoice^(C) with all your heart,
    Daughter Jerusalem!
¹⁵ The Lord has taken away your punishment,
    he has turned back your enemy.
The Lord, the King of Israel, is with you;^(D)
    never again will you fear^(E) any harm.^(F)
