¹⁶ The people of Joseph replied, “The hill country is not enough for us, and all the Canaanites who live in the plain have chariots fitted with iron,^(A) both those in Beth Shan^(B) and its settlements and those in the Valley of Jezreel.”^(C)

¹⁸ Their territory included:

³³ Now all the Midianites, Amalekites^(A) and other eastern peoples^(B) joined forces and crossed over the Jordan and camped in the Valley of Jezreel.^(C)

⁴³ David had also married Ahinoam^(A) of Jezreel, and they both were his wives.^(B)

⁴⁵ Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain^(A) started falling and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.^(B)
