³⁶ He took the seven loaves and the fish, gave thanks, and broke them. He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. ³⁷ They all ate and were filled. They picked up seven basketfuls of the broken pieces that were left over. ³⁸ Those who ate numbered four thousand men, without counting the women and children.
