⁶⁸saying, “Prophesy to us, you Messiah!^[a] Who hit^[b] you?”

⁶⁹Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard when a servant girl came up to him and said, “You, too, were with Jesus the Galilean.”

⁷⁰But he denied it in front of them all. “I don’t know what you’re talking about!” he exclaimed.
