¹⁴ from men by your hand, O Lord,
    from ^(A)men of the world whose ^(B)portion is in this life.^[a]
You fill their womb with treasure;^[b]
    they are satisfied with ^(C)children,
    and they leave their abundance to their infants.

⁷ Their ^(A)eyes swell out through fatness;
    their hearts overflow with follies.

^7 (A)Why do the wicked live,
    reach old age, and grow mighty in power?
⁸ Their ^(B)offspring are established in their presence,
    and their descendants before their eyes.
⁹ Their houses are ^(C)safe from fear,
    and ^(D)no rod of God is upon them.
¹⁰ Their bull breeds without fail;
    their cow calves and ^(E)does not miscarry.
¹¹ They send out their ^(F)little boys like a flock,
    and their children dance.
¹² They sing to ^(G)the tambourine and ^(H)the lyre
    and rejoice to the sound of ^(I)the pipe.
¹³ They ^(J)spend their days in prosperity,
    and in ^(K)peace they go down to ^(L)Sheol.
