⁵² He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight.^(A) He walked in the ways of his father,^(B) in the ways of his mother,^(C) and in the ways of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who had caused Israel to sin.^{(D) 53} He served Baal and bowed in worship to him.^(E) He angered the Lord God of Israel just as his father had done.^(F)
