1 Chronicles 18:2-4
New King James Version
2 Then he [a]defeated (A)Moab, and the Moabites became David’s (B)servants, and brought tribute.
3 And (C)David [b]defeated [c]Hadadezer king of Zobah as far as Hamath, as he went to establish his power by the River Euphrates. 4 David took from him one thousand chariots, [d]seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand foot soldiers. Also David [e]hamstrung all the chariot horses, except that he spared enough of them for one hundred chariots.

New International Version
2 David also defeated the Moabites,(A) and they became subject to him and brought him tribute.
3 Moreover, David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah,(B) in the vicinity of Hamath, when he went to set up his monument at[a] the Euphrates River.(C) 4 David captured a thousand of his chariots, seven thousand charioteers and twenty thousand foot soldiers. He hamstrung(D) all but a hundred of the chariot horses.
