The Leaders of the Tribe of Manasseh East of the Jordan River

23 Half of the tribe of Manasseh lived in the land from Bashan to Baal Hermon, Senir, and Mount Hermon. The tribe members were numerous. 24 These were the heads of Manasseh’s families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah, and Jahdiel. They were soldiers who were famous heads of their families.

25 But Gad, Reuben, and half of the tribe of Manasseh were unfaithful to the Elohim of their ancestors. They chased after the gods of the people of the land as if they were prostitutes. Elohim had destroyed these people as the Israelites arrived.

The Half-Tribe of Manasseh

23 The people of the half-tribe of Manasseh(A) were numerous; they settled in the land from Bashan to Baal Hermon, that is, to Senir (Mount Hermon).(B)

24 These were the heads of their families: Epher, Ishi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremiah, Hodaviah and Jahdiel. They were brave warriors, famous men, and heads of their families. 25 But they were unfaithful(C) to the God of their ancestors and prostituted(D) themselves to the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God had destroyed before them.
