10 He gives power for doing miracles to some, and to others power to prophesy and preach. He gives someone else the power to know whether evil spirits are speaking through those who claim to be giving God’s messages—or whether it is really the Spirit of God who is speaking. Still another person is able to speak in languages he never learned; and others, who do not know the language either, are given power to understand what he is saying. 11 It is the same and only Holy Spirit who gives all these gifts and powers, deciding which each one of us should have.

12 Our bodies have many parts, but the many parts make up only one body when they are all put together. So it is with the “body” of Christ.

10 to another miraculous powers,(A) to another prophecy,(B) to another distinguishing between spirits,(C) to another speaking in different kinds of tongues,[a](D) and to still another the interpretation of tongues.[b] 11 All these are the work of one and the same Spirit,(E) and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.

12 Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body,(F) so it is with Christ.(G)
