1 Corinthians 14:20-22
Disciples’ Literal New Testament
Tongues Are a Sign For Unbelievers; Prophecy Is For Believers
20 Brothers, do not be children in your understanding. But be childlike in evilness, and be mature in your understanding. 21 It has been written in the Law [in Isa 28:11-12] that “I will speak to this people by people of other-tongues, and by the lips of others. And not even in this manner will they listen-to Me, says the Lord”. 22 So then the tongues are for a sign[a]— not for the ones believing, but for the unbelievers. But the prophecy is not for the unbelievers, but for the ones believing.

1 Corinthians 14:20-22
New International Version
20 Brothers and sisters, stop thinking like children.(A) In regard to evil be infants,(B) but in your thinking be adults. 21 In the Law(C) it is written:
“With other tongues
and through the lips of foreigners
I will speak to this people,
but even then they will not listen to me,(D)
says the Lord.”[a]
22 Tongues, then, are a sign, not for believers but for unbelievers; prophecy,(E) however, is not for unbelievers but for believers.
