8 None of the rulers of this age knew this wisdom, because if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.(A) 9 But as it is written,
What no eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no human heart has conceived—
God has prepared these things for those who love him.[a](B)
10 Now God has revealed these things to us by the Spirit, since the Spirit searches everything,(C) even the depths of God.(D)

8 None of the rulers of this age(A) understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.(B) 9 However, as it is written:
“What no eye has seen,
what no ear has heard,
and what no human mind has conceived”[a]—
the things God has prepared for those who love him—(C)
10 these are the things God has revealed(D) to us by his Spirit.(E)
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
