²I gave you ^(A)milk to drink, not solid food; for you ^(B)were not yet able to consume it. But even now you are not yet able,

²I gave you milk, not solid food,^(A) for you were not yet ready for it.^(B) Indeed, you are still not ready.

²^(A)and like newborn babies, long for the ^[a]^(B)pure ^[b]milk of the word, so that by it you may ^(C)grow ^[c]in respect to salvation,

²Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,^(A) so that by it you may grow up^(B) in your salvation,
