17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, which is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, which shall put you in remembrance of my [a]ways in Christ as I teach everywhere in every Church.
18 [b]Some are puffed up as though I would not come unto you.
19 But I will come to you shortly, (A)if the Lord will, and I will know, not the [c]words of them which are puffed up, but the power.

17 For this reason I have sent to you(A) Timothy,(B) my son(C) whom I love, who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus, which agrees with what I teach everywhere in every church.(D)
18 Some of you have become arrogant,(E) as if I were not coming to you.(F) 19 But I will come to you very soon,(G) if the Lord is willing,(H) and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have.
