¹⁴God will raise us from death by the same power he used when he raised our Lord to life.

¹⁵Don't you know that your bodies are part of the body of Christ? Is it right for me to join part of the body of Christ to a prostitute? No, it isn't! ¹⁶^(A) Don't you know that a man who does that becomes part of her body? The Scriptures say, “The two of them will be like one person.”

¹⁴By his power God raised the Lord from the dead,^(A) and he will raise us also.^(B) ¹⁵Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?^(C) Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! ¹⁶Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”^[a]^(D)
