1 Corinthians 7:21-23

21 Were you called while a slave? It should not be a concern to you. But if you can become free, by all means take the opportunity.[a] 22 For he who is called by the Lord as a slave(A) is the Lord’s freedman.[b] Likewise he who is called as a free man[c] is Christ’s slave. 23 You were bought(B) at a price; do not become slaves of men.

21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don’t let it trouble you—although if you can gain your freedom, do so. 22 For the one who was a slave when called to faith in the Lord is the Lord’s freed person;(A) similarly, the one who was free when called is Christ’s slave.(B) 23 You were bought at a price;(C) do not become slaves of human beings.
