For even if there are (A)so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet (B)for us there is one God, the Father, (C)of whom are all things, and we for Him; and (D)one Lord Jesus Christ, (E)through whom are all things, and (F)through whom we live.

However, there is not in everyone that knowledge; for some, (G)with consciousness of the idol, until now eat it as a thing offered to an idol; and their conscience, being weak, is (H)defiled.

For even if there are so-called gods,(A) whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many “gods” and many “lords”), yet for us there is but one God,(B) the Father,(C) from whom all things came(D) and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord,(E) Jesus Christ, through whom all things came(F) and through whom we live.

But not everyone possesses this knowledge.(G) Some people are still so accustomed to idols that when they eat sacrificial food they think of it as having been sacrificed to a god, and since their conscience is weak,(H) it is defiled.
