17 [a]All unrighteousness is sin, but there is a sin not unto death.

18 [b]We know that whosoever is born of God, sinneth not: but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

19 [c]We know that we are of God, and this whole world lieth in wickedness.

  1. 1 John 5:17 The taking away of an objection: Indeed all iniquity is comprehended under the name of sin, but yet we must not despair therefore, because every sin is not deadly, and without hope of remedy.
