²⁶ and he took the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and he took all the treasures of the king’s house. He took the small gold shields that Solomon had made, ²⁷ so King Rehoboam made small copper shields in place of them and entrusted them^[a] to the commanders of the royal guard who keep the doorway of the king’s house. ²⁸ Whenever the king came to the house of Yahweh, the royal guard carried them and brought them back to the alcove room of the royal guard.
