12 They declared a special day. On that day the people were to give up eating. They called the people together. And they put Naboth in a place of honor before the people. 13 Then two troublemakers sat across from Naboth. They said they had heard Naboth speak against God and the king. So the people carried Naboth out of the city. And they killed him with stones. 14 Then the leaders sent a message to Jezebel. It said, “Naboth has been killed.”

12 They proclaimed a fast(A) and seated Naboth in a prominent place among the people. 13 Then two scoundrels came and sat opposite him and brought charges against Naboth before the people, saying, “Naboth has cursed both God and the king.” So they took him outside the city and stoned him to death.(B) 14 Then they sent word to Jezebel: “Naboth has been stoned to death.”
