15 And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of Israel, who spake with his mouth unto David thy father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying, 16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that my name might be there; but I chose David to be over my people Israel. 17 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Jehovah, the God of Israel.

15 Then he said:
“Praise be to the Lord,(A) the God of Israel, who with his own hand has fulfilled what he promised with his own mouth to my father David. For he said, 16 ‘Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt,(B) I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name(C) might be there, but I have chosen(D) David(E) to rule my people Israel.’
17 “My father David had it in his heart(F) to build a temple(G) for the Name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
