15 And he said, “(A)Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, (B)who spoke with His mouth to my father David and has fulfilled it by His hand, saying, 16 ‘(C)Since the day that I brought My people Israel from Egypt, I did not choose a city out of all the tribes of Israel in which to build a house that (D)My name might be there, but (E)I have chosen David to be over My people Israel.’ 17 (F)And it was [a]in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

15 Then he said:
“Praise be to the Lord,(A) the God of Israel, who with his own hand has fulfilled what he promised with his own mouth to my father David. For he said, 16 ‘Since the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt,(B) I have not chosen a city in any tribe of Israel to have a temple built so that my Name(C) might be there, but I have chosen(D) David(E) to rule my people Israel.’
17 “My father David had it in his heart(F) to build a temple(G) for the Name of the Lord, the God of Israel.
