27 Hiram commanded some of his most experienced sailors to be the crew of the fleet. These sailors were in the company of Solomon’s servants. 28 They traveled to Ophir. When they got there, they gathered 16 tons of gold and transported it back to King Solomon.

27 And Hiram sent his men—sailors(A) who knew the sea—to serve in the fleet with Solomon’s men. 28 They sailed to Ophir(B) and brought back 420 talents[a] of gold,(C) which they delivered to King Solomon.
