^7 (A)then I will cut off Israel from the land which I have given them, and ^(B)the house which I have set apart as holy for My name, I will ^[a]cast out of My presence. So ^(C)Israel will become a proverb and a byword among all peoples. ⁸ And this house will become ^[b](D)a heap of ruins; everyone who passes by will feel desolate and hiss and say, ‘^(E)Why has Yahweh done thus to this land and to this house?’

⁸ I will also make this city an ^(A)object of horror and of hissing; ^(B)everyone who passes by it will be ^[a]horrified and hiss because of all its ^[b]slaughtering.

⁹ I will ^(A)give them over to be a terror and an evil for all the kingdoms of the earth, as a ^(B)reproach and a proverb, a byword and a ^(C)curse in all places where I will banish them.

⁹ behold, I will ^(A)send and take all the families of the north,’ declares Yahweh, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, ^(B)My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these surrounding nations; and I will ^[a]devote them to destruction and ^(C)make them an object of horror and of hissing and an everlasting waste place.

¹⁸ I will pursue them with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence; and I will ^(A)give them over to be a terror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a ^(B)curse and an object of horror and of ^(C)hissing, and a reproach among all the nations where I have banished them,
