10 (A)Once you were not a people, but now you are God's people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
11 Beloved, I urge you (B)as sojourners and exiles (C)to abstain from the passions of the flesh, (D)which wage war against your soul. 12 (E)Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honourable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, (F)they may see your good deeds and glorify God on (G)the day of visitation.

11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
