3 Your adornment should not be outward, with broided hair and hanging on of gold, or in putting on gorgeous apparel, 4 but let the hid man of the heart be incorrupt, with a meek and quiet spirit – which spirit is before God a thing much set by.

2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes.(A) 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self,(B) the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.(C)
