21 That functions as a signpost for you, pointing to baptism, which now rescues you—not by washing away fleshly pollution, but by the appeal to God of a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus the Messiah. 22 He has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand, with angels, authorities and powers subject to him.

21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you(A) also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience(B) toward God.[a] It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,(C) 22 who has gone into heaven(D) and is at God’s right hand(E)—with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.(F)
