2 that [a]ye no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God. 3 For the time past may suffice to have wrought the desire of the Gentiles, and to have walked in lasciviousness, lusts, winebibbings, revellings, carousings, and abominable idolatries: 4 wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them into the same [b]excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

2 As a result, they do not live the rest of their earthly lives for evil human desires,(A) but rather for the will of God. 3 For you have spent enough time in the past(B) doing what pagans choose to do—living in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, carousing and detestable idolatry.(C) 4 They are surprised that you do not join them in their reckless, wild living, and they heap abuse on you.(D)
