¹⁷ Eli responded, “Go in peace,^(A) and may the God of Israel grant the petition you’ve requested from Him.”^(B)

²⁰ They received help against these enemies because they cried out to God in battle, and the Hagrites and all their allies were handed over to them.^(A) He granted their request because they trusted in Him.^(B)

¹³ He prayed to Him, so He heard his petition and granted his request,^(A) and brought him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom. So Manasseh came to know that Yahweh is God.^(B)

²³ So we fasted and pleaded with our God about this, and He granted our request.

¹⁰ And not only that,^(A) but also Rebekah received a promise when she became pregnant^[a](B) by one man, our ancestor Isaac.
