8 Now Saul waited seven days, according to the appointed time which Samuel had set, but Samuel had not come to Gilgal; and the people were scattering away from Saul. 9 So Saul said, “Bring me the burnt offering and the peace offerings.” And [a]he offered the burnt offering [which he was forbidden to do]. 10 As soon as he finished offering the burnt offering, [b]Samuel finally came; Saul went out to meet and to [c]welcome him.

8 He waited seven(A) days, the time set by Samuel; but Samuel did not come to Gilgal, and Saul’s men began to scatter. 9 So he said, “Bring me the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings.” And Saul offered(B) up the burnt offering. 10 Just as he finished making the offering, Samuel(C) arrived, and Saul went out to greet(D) him.
