¹⁶Saul’s lookouts^(A) at Gibeah in Benjamin saw the army melting away in all directions.

¹⁶And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went on beating down one another.

¹⁶Now the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin looked, and there was the multitude, melting away; and they ^(A)went here and there.

⁶This is what the Lord says to me:

“Go, post a lookout^(A)
and have him report what he sees.

⁶For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth.

⁶For thus has the Lord said to me:
