1 Samuel 14:43-45
Legacy Standard Bible
43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, “(A)Tell me what you have done.” So Jonathan told him and said, “(B)I indeed tasted a little honey with the end of the staff that was in my hand. Here I am; I must die!” 44 And Saul said, “(C)May God do [a]this to me and more also, for (D)you shall surely die, Jonathan.” 45 But the people said to Saul, “Must Jonathan die, who has [b]brought about this great salvation in Israel? Far from it! As Yahweh lives, (E)not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for (F)he has worked with God this day.” So the people [c]redeemed Jonathan, and he did not die.

1 Samuel 14:43-45
New International Version
43 Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done.”(A)
So Jonathan told him, “I tasted a little honey(B) with the end of my staff. And now I must die!”
44 Saul said, “May God deal with me, be it ever so severely,(C) if you do not die, Jonathan.(D)”
45 But the men said to Saul, “Should Jonathan die—he who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Never! As surely as the Lord lives, not a hair(E) of his head will fall to the ground, for he did this today with God’s help.” So the men rescued(F) Jonathan, and he was not put to death.
