⁴⁷ Now when Saul had taken control of the kingdom over Israel, he fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, ^(A)the sons of Ammon, Edom, ^(B)the kings of Zobah, and ^(C)the Philistines; and wherever he turned, he ^[a]inflicted punishment.

⁹ Then ^(A)Doeg the Edomite, who was ^[a]standing in front of the servants of Saul, responded and said, “^(B)I saw the son of Jesse coming to Nob, to ^(C)Ahimelech the son of Ahitub.
