5 Saul came to the city of Amalek and set an ambush in the valley. 6 Saul said to (A)the Kenites, “Go, depart, go down from among the Amalekites, so that I do not destroy you with them; for (B)you showed kindness to all the sons of Israel when they came up from Egypt.” So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites. 7 So (C)Saul [a]defeated the Amalekites, from (D)Havilah as you go to (E)Shur, which is [b]east of Egypt.

5 Saul went to the city of Amalek and set an ambush in the ravine. 6 Then he said to the Kenites,(A) “Go away, leave the Amalekites so that I do not destroy you along with them; for you showed kindness to all the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.
7 Then Saul attacked the Amalekites(B) all the way from Havilah to Shur,(C) near the eastern border of Egypt.
