Saul went to the city of Amalek and set up an ambush in the valley.

Saul said to the Kenites, “Go away, leave the Amalekites, so that I not destroy you along with them. You were kind to all of the Israelites when they came up out of Egypt.” So the Kenites moved away from the Amalekites.[a]

Saul then struck down the Amalekites from Havilah down to Shur which lies to the east of Egypt.

Then Saul attacked the Amalekites(B) all the way from Havilah to Shur,(C) near the eastern border of Egypt.
