1 Samuel 16:6-8
Common English Bible
6 When they arrived, Samuel looked at Eliab and thought, That must be the Lord’s anointed right in front.
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Have no regard for his appearance or stature, because I haven’t selected him. God[a] doesn’t look at things like humans do. Humans see only what is visible to the eyes, but the Lord sees into the heart.”
8 Next Jesse called for Abinadab, who presented himself to Samuel, but he said, “The Lord hasn’t chosen this one either.”

New International Version
6 When they arrived, Samuel saw Eliab(A) and thought, “Surely the Lord’s anointed stands here before the Lord.”
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance,(B) but the Lord looks at the heart.”(C)
8 Then Jesse called Abinadab(D) and had him pass in front of Samuel. But Samuel said, “The Lord has not chosen this one either.”
