10 Those who oppose the Lord will be shattered;[a](A)
he will thunder in the heavens against them.(B)
The Lord will judge the ends of the earth.(C)
He will give power to his king;
he will lift up the horn of his anointed.[b](D)

11 Elkanah went home to Ramah,(E) but the boy served the Lord in the presence of the priest Eli.(F)

12 Eli’s sons were wicked men;(G) they did not respect the Lord(H)

New International Version

10     those who oppose the Lord will be broken.(A)
The Most High will thunder(B) from heaven;
    the Lord will judge(C) the ends of the earth.

“He will give strength(D) to his king
    and exalt the horn(E) of his anointed.”

11 Then Elkanah went home to Ramah,(F) but the boy ministered(G) before the Lord under Eli the priest.

Eli’s Wicked Sons

12 Eli’s sons were scoundrels; they had no regard(H) for the Lord.
