17 So the sin of the young men was very serious in the sight of the Lord, because the men were treating the Lord’s offerings with contempt.
18 But Samuel ministered before the Lord while he was still a young boy, dressed in a special vest[a] made of linen. 19 His mother would make a little robe for him and bring it to him whenever she came up with her husband to offer the annual sacrifice.

17 This sin of the young men was very great in the Lord’s sight, for they[a] were treating the Lord’s offering with contempt.(A)
