17 By doing this, the sin of the young men was very serious in the Lord’s sight because the men[a] despised the Lord’s offering.

18 Now Samuel was ministering in the Lord’s presence, as a boy wearing a linen ephod.[b] 19 His mother would make a small robe for him, and she would bring it each year when she went up with her husband to offer the yearly sacrifice.

New International Version
17 This sin of the young men was very great in the Lord’s sight, for they[a] were treating the Lord’s offering with contempt.(A)
18 But Samuel was ministering(B) before the Lord—a boy wearing a linen ephod.(C) 19 Each year his mother made him a little robe and took it to him when she went up with her husband to offer the annual(D) sacrifice.
