³⁴ This will be the sign that will come to you concerning your two sons Hophni and Phinehas:^(A) both of them will die on the same day.^(B)

²⁹ “This will be the sign^(A) for you: This year you will eat what grows on its own, and in the second year what grows from that. But in the third year sow and reap, plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

⁸ Hezekiah had asked Isaiah, “What is the sign^(A) that the Lord will heal me and that I will go up to the Lord’s temple on the third day?”

⁹ Isaiah said, “This is the sign^(B) to you from the Lord that He will do what He has promised: Should the shadow go ahead 10 steps or go back 10 steps?”

¹¹ “Ask for a sign^(A) from the Lord your God—from the depths of Sheol to the heights of heaven.”

¹⁴ Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you^[a] a sign: The virgin will conceive,^[b] have a son, and name him Immanuel.^[c](A)
