9 But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy[a] him! For who has stretched out his hand against Yahweh’s anointed one and remained blameless?” 10 And David said, “As Yahweh lives,[b] certainly[c] Yahweh will strike him, or his day will come and he will die, or he will go down in the battle and perish.[d] 11 Yahweh forbid me[e] from stretching out my hand against Yahweh’s anointed one! So then, please take the spear that is near his head and the jar of water, and let us go.”

Who can lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed(A) and be guiltless?(B) 10 As surely as the Lord lives,” he said, “the Lord himself will strike(C) him, or his time(D) will come and he will die,(E) or he will go into battle and perish. 11 But the Lord forbid that I should lay a hand on the Lord’s anointed. Now get the spear and water jug that are near his head, and let’s go.”
