2 At that time, when Eli was laid down in his place (now his eyes had begun to grow dim, so that he could not see), 3 and God’s lamp hadn’t yet gone out, and Samuel had laid down in Yahweh’s temple where God’s ark was, 4 Yahweh called Samuel. He said, “Here I am.”

2 One night Eli, whose eyes(A) were becoming so weak that he could barely see,(B) was lying down in his usual place. 3 The lamp(C) of God had not yet gone out, and Samuel was lying down in the house(D) of the Lord, where the ark(E) of God was. 4 Then the Lord called Samuel.
Samuel answered, “Here I am.(F)”
