7 Then (A)David said to (B)Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring the ephod near to me.” So Abiathar brought the ephod near to David. 8 (C)And David asked of Yahweh, saying, “(D)Shall I pursue this band? Shall I overtake them?” And He said to him, “Pursue, for you will surely overtake them, (E)and you will surely deliver all.” 9 So David went, (F)he and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where those left behind remained.

New International Version
7 Then David said to Abiathar(A) the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.(B)” Abiathar brought it to him, 8 and David inquired(C) of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”
“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed(D) in the rescue.(E)”
9 David and the six hundred men(F) with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind.
