English Standard Version
3 (A)The battle pressed hard against Saul, and the archers found him, and he was badly wounded by the archers. 4 (B)Then Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it, lest these (C)uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and mistreat me.” But his armor-bearer would not, (D)for he feared greatly. Therefore Saul took his own sword (E)and fell upon it. 5 And when his armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword and died with him.

New International Version
3 The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded(A) him critically.
4 Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through,(B) or these uncircumcised(C) fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.”
But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it. 5 When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died with him.
