1 Samuel 31:3-5
Modern English Version
3 The battle was heavy against Saul. The archers found him, and he was severely wounded by the archers.
4 Then Saul said to his armor bearer, “Draw your sword and thrust me through with it, lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through and abuse me.”
But his armor bearer would not, for he was very afraid. Therefore Saul took his sword and fell upon it. 5 When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he also fell upon his sword and died with him.

New International Version
3 The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded(A) him critically.
4 Saul said to his armor-bearer, “Draw your sword and run me through,(B) or these uncircumcised(C) fellows will come and run me through and abuse me.”
But his armor-bearer was terrified and would not do it; so Saul took his own sword and fell on it. 5 When the armor-bearer saw that Saul was dead, he too fell on his sword and died with him.
