1 Thessalonians 2:11-13
American Standard Version
11 as ye know how we dealt with each one of you, as a father with his own children, exhorting you, and encouraging you, and testifying, 12 to the end that ye should walk worthily of God, who [a]calleth you into his own kingdom and glory.
13 And for this cause we also thank God without ceasing, that, when ye received from us [b]the word of the message, even the word of God, ye accepted it not as the word of men, but, as it is in truth, the word of God, which also worketh in you that believe.

11 For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children,(A) 12 encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy(B) of God, who calls(C) you into his kingdom and glory.
13 And we also thank God continually(D) because, when you received the word of God,(E) which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe.
