7 It is at night when people sleep; it is at night when they get drunk. 8 (A)But we belong to the day, and we should be sober. We must wear faith and love as a breastplate, and our hope of salvation as a helmet. 9 God did not choose us to suffer his anger, but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,

7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night.(A) 8 But since we belong to the day,(B) let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate,(C) and the hope of salvation(D) as a helmet.(E) 9 For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath(F) but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.(G)
