9 men who hold on to the mystery of the faith with a clean conscience. 10 Let them also be tested first. Then let them serve as deacons, if they are found to be blameless. 11 In the same way women[a] must be worthy of respect, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in everything.

9 They must keep hold of the deep truths of the faith with a clear conscience.(A) 10 They must first be tested;(B) and then if there is nothing against them, let them serve as deacons.
11 In the same way, the women[a] are to be worthy of respect, not malicious talkers(C) but temperate(D) and trustworthy in everything.
