²²Lay hands quickly on no man, nor partake in others' sins. Keep thyself pure.

²³Drink no longer only water, but use a little wine on account of thy stomach and thy frequent illnesses.

²⁴Of some men the sins are manifest beforehand, going before to judgment, and some also they follow after.

²²Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands,^(A) and do not share in the sins of others.^(B) Keep yourself pure.^(C)

²³Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine^(D) because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.

²⁴The sins of some are obvious, reaching the place of judgment ahead of them; the sins of others trail behind them.
